Maybe deep, deep down, John McCain, after seeing what it is like just being the official Candidate of his party, enduring the Secret Service always already there wherever he goes, having a muzzle put on his famously loquacious mouth...maybe John decided he really didn't need to end his life as the Prez, as, in a certain sense, a Prisoner of War again, only in a different cell.
